October Hallo-Queen!

Oh my merry GOSH guys, it's nice to update you with some fabulous news. Not only am I taking MicroRave to both the Retford and Nottingham Comedy Festivals in the next few weeks but I've also had it confirmed for Leicester next February!

I can also confirm that I am BOOKED and BLESSED for the rest of this year with every Thursday, Friday and Saturday taken all the way to December 29th. I'm still available for any NYE shennanigans should you or anyone else be looking but, as experience is teaching me, should nothing come up in the next few months I'll probably get a panicked message three days before when someone else has overdone the gobbling with their turkey and needs me to parachute in like a less gracious Mary Poppins.

Shows since I last wrote have been going proper lovely. My Thursday night Boozy Bingo residency at Upside Down Bar in Bolton is drawing in the dabbing and the delirious, Bop & Bingo continues to mix Microwaving with butlers bottoms and hoola hooping, my own Absolutely Dabulous nights are doing the numbers and I've performed everywhere from Sheffield to Chester in recent weeks. Big shout out to The Three Huns, who I did a delightful afternoon for recently with Deal or No Deal!

Birthdays and Hen Do's are booking in for 2024 already so that officially makes my diary open for next year. If you want me you know where to find me.

On my back. Asleep. I'm tired just thinking about all this.

Both shows went wonderfully and I'm now taking MicroRave to New Mills, Birmingham and Nottingham in the coming months - plus a few more places to be confirmed. Keep up with my musings on my socials; shows on the Live Dates page. I'll update this again when I can!

MAY I Entertain you!

It's been a busy old time since I last wrote. There's been bingo, brunches, competition finals and being labelled "The Ed Sheeran of Drag" to deal with. Where to start? How about...

..here, where I deal with that last event in the list. At the end of April I was in Blackpool at Garlands with my guitar, a music stand, a folder of songs I'd printed out from the internet and enough quips and one liners to link them together to make for quite a Monday night. The fabulous Aura Sutra was on DJ duties and joined me for some stage chat during the sets. The audience were drunk and appreciative - joing in with plenty of my "Lessons in Pop". Who'd have thought Whole Again would raise the roof like it did. Amazing. I'm back in June.

Bop & Bingo have been keeping me busy on the weekends with sold out shows in Denton and Burnley (twice!) and Wythenshawe as well as more intimate affairs elsewhere. It was hen do central in Burnley on Eurovision night (they'd clearly chose to, like me, watch the UK's return to dismal form the next day) whilst in Wythenshawe you couldn't move for old school ravers giving it crazy legs on the dancefloor and wild women necking pints. I'm looking forward to returning next month for Wythenshawe Pride!

At the start of May, the venue final for Drag Idol took place at The Brewers to a big audience and some even bigger personalities. Following my Sam Smith parody and an onslaught of comedy crowdwork I revealed my g string (and the other five) for an acoustic take on Dua Lipa but it wasn't enough to swing me the win and I bowed out at the same stage as last year. The curse of Canal Street is broken though. Not only did I return to my venue of choice from 2022 but I'll be back by the water for a third time this year on July 11th when I preview my new Edinburgh show, "MicroRave" at Bar Pop alongside Auntie Ginger performing "I Consent". Get your tickets now from here!

Along with all this there's been a fab brunch with Funnyboyz and several comedy nights in the past few weeks. My comedy sets are now all about running material for my festival shows. Disco Divorce Party is confirmed from Buxton, Morecambe, Carnforth and Edinburgh - whilst MicroRave adds two Manchester dates, Barrow-On-Furness, Ulverston and Nottingham to that list with more to come. The next few months are going to incur excess baggage charges they're that packed...

April Showers, A Deluge of Shows

April has been quite the month so far with anything up to five gigs in a single week.

The bingo has been a ball as usual with plenty of alcohol fuelled females whooping it up, smacking the buff butler's bum and singing along to Believe as if their life depended on it. Mainly this has been with Bop & Bingo but I also found myself hosting Secret Garden Bingo in Skipton last weekend to 140 disco dabbers and out in Liverpool with Funnyboyz doing it Benidorm Bingo style.

The most memorable Funnyboyz of the month has to be the Disney brunch. An event which I duly turned up to as Alice in Wonderland to find all the other queens had decided the theme wasn't for them and had left it to our wonderful singer, Beth, to trill out the tunes as Elsa. The audience didn't seem to mind we weren't all princesses though - I guess they just Let It Go...

Beyond Merseyside, I've travelled even further since I last updated. Queer As Joke happened in Birmingham with a full stand-up comedy line-up with me closing the show. My nerves went into loop the loop when I clocked the entire Drag Race UK cast in the audience - performing in Birmingham the next night it turned out - but they settled soon enough when Danny Beard and co decided to leave early to get some drinks in and not one of them saw me wave tins of ravioli around or grate cheese. Hello to all my fab fans who'd travelled bloomin' miles to see me though. Queen of the people me. Yes.

Last week I also popped into The Brewers on Canal Street for the first time in a long time for the first heat of Drag Idol. I found myself competing with some solidly tip top ladies and made it through to the venue final with my pie parody and a performance of Heaven as an angel (NOT a fairy. I'm gender fluid, not fairy liquid.) The venue final is on May 3rd. Hope you can make it.

I'm off to open a comedy night in Southport on Friday (that means I'm on first - not cutting a ribbon with the local mayor) and then it's bank holiday bingos for the forseeable - plus a few more comedy nights at that all important Drag Idol show.

If you want to see what I get up to I'm now mixing up video blogs with my jokes and songs on instagram. Follow me online, not down dark alleys.

Shows in February

It's been a lovely month of getting my general sheet together; writing new jokes, songs and material for my 2023 show MicroRAVE. Have a good old gander at my live dates for what's coming up though - bingo, brunches and comedy shows a go-go!

Edinburgh Fringe Shows

Whilst most sensible people choose to spend their August on holiday somewhere hot, I chose to spend it in two tiny rooms at the Edinburgh Fr...
