So sorry for the delayed update but living the Bra-life is always more than a handful! Things have been crazy as ever and its only now I have the time to update on all the stuffs I've been up to.

The bathroom selfie says it all though. I've been here, there and everywhere. Yet, after two competition finals, a bunch of bingos, my own Pop Bop and my debut hour in Manchester's Village I'm still raring to go!

So let's start with the competitions. on April 27th I found myself at The Eagle for their venue's final of Drag Idol. It was plenty busy and the venue is a very nice place so I grabbed a pinot and settled in. I was on later in the night and did ten minutes of Angela magic which the judges were very nice about. One, who shall remain nameless, mentioned the name Honey G in the context of my Meal Deal rap. She is now on my detention list and will be dealt with firmly at some point in the futue. The other acts were very strong and, in the case of the winner, completely different to me. A proper glitzy queen of the sequins and showgirl variety. Annoyingly talented. The runner-up was also proper glamorous. Which left me to be the last of us placed - in third position.

Disappointed but not defeated, I headed to the Drag Idol heats at Via the next day and found myself in contention with the one and only Viola Viagra off The Crown and that. It was a hard fought battle but the judges ended up sending us both through to the final, which took place the next week. Where she promptly beat me. But I'm alright, nothing keeps Angela down for long. Except a bottle of Pinot.

Hic.

Away from the comps, Annie Sup and I ran our debut Non-Stop Pop Bop in Glossop with disco bingo, party games and a 100% pop powered playlist. Them what turned up had a real nice time and I now know the beauticians of our little town should I ever need semi-permanent eyelash extensions or a squidge of filler. Marvellous.

And so that leaves us with Bop & Bingo and my debut hour just off Canal Street to talk about. The bingo in Glossop was HUGE, noisy and a little bit mad. I posed with three women and an inflatable willy then made everyone Micro-wave. Pretty standard to be fair.

The next bingo witnessed a one hour flying visit from me before I had to shoot off into Manchester to perform my show, Life Lessons, at The Cockatoo Club. A well nice venue with a stage just the right size for me and all my stuff. Due to some international singing competition going on at the same time the crowd could have been bigger- most of them were downstairs cheering on that Timotei viking boy with the long hair and beard - but me and my support group had a neat old time. One lucky birthday boy even got the knob of my unused cheese from my Queen tribute performance (you'll have to see that to believe it!) I look forward to coming back with my tweaked and twerked up second version with more crowd chat and less of me rattling on. I can't help it, but I'll try.

'til laters!

Lowdown on The Crown

Thanks soooo much to all of you who came out and supported me at The Crown last Thursday. It was an incredible night and the performances by Lofty Heights, Cake Boy, Viagra Viola and Actavia Estee were all amazing. Congratulations to Actavia on her win and Cake Boy as the runner-up. Seven weeks of challenges have made me a sharper, wiser Angela and as several of my sets were created from scratch I now have even more to cram into my Edinburgh Fringe show this summer!

Competing ain't over though, I'm at The Eagle next Wednesday for their Drag Idol final and then Via the next day for their heat. Follow that with Bop & Bingo in Glossop on Friday (SOLD OUT!) and then Wigan on Sunday and it's pretty busy for Miss Angela B. Come and see me if you fancy it. I can promise no less than three songs, two costume changes and a granary-based prop (in the space of ten minutes!) for your time at either Drag Idol event.

Ta-ra!

The Final Count Crown

Blimey oh rhymey, my Lady Gaga one liners, a Papparazzi parody and a lip sync that had me on my knees (they're literally scuffed!) helped me claw my way into the final of The Crown on Thursday. Which means I'm back at The Brewers on Thursday 21st April alongside four other royally talented queens. I would love as many of you there as possible so if you can then come on down and watch me give the performance of my leggy life that would be amaaaazing.

A Right Royal Rollercoaster

Oooh, look! Live dates!

Apologies apologies for the delay in updating my amazing blog for all of you but life is far too BUSY! As you can see from my neat little graphic, I have nine gigs this month + up to another three if I stay in contention for The Crown at The Brewers. That particular competition saga seems like a good place to begin.

Here's me joint-winning the movie week!
So I entered The Crown thinking it would be a heat and a final but nooooooo, it turned out I'd signed up to performing every week until April 21st in a Drag Race style event where one or two queens get eliminated each week. This is a BIG commitment but it's such amazing fun!

Unlike comedy shows, where I usually knock out my tried and tested tens and twenties, The Crown demands new material on a different theme every week. So far I've made a song and dance about Beyonce on the theme of pop royalty, dressed up as a superhero for movie week and gone 90's raving as part of a dance through the decades. Clips of all of them can be found on my insta. This week I get my Freddie Mercury on in the Diva's round - come and see me from 7.30pm this Thursday at The Brewers, Canal Street. If I last two more rounds I'm in THE BLOOMIN' FINAL!

Getting me 50's on!
In non-competition news, Bop & Bingo has been going marvellously as always. We've done a sell-out show in Oldham to 150 crazy women, another sell-out in Middleton for Mothers Day plus a bunch of other similarly insane weekends. We've also moved into brunches and held our first one last weekend in Bury on a Grease theme. The ladies who came got properly trollied on the free bar and there was dancing, singing and a bit of bingo on the side too. I learnt the hand jive. Every day's a school day!

We've got loads of dates coming up for the bingo so if you want to join me, Annie and the rest of the gang just pop over here.

Also's, If you're near my little hometown of Glossop I've also got a few new things in the pipeline here: a new party night, Non Stop Pop Bop, and a new comedy night, Square Jest. Both are at Square West. Both will be AMAZING!

My other big news is that I'm OFFICIALLY TIKTOK FAMOUS! Well, I have 10k followers now which means I can unlock all the businessy stuff the Tok provides. Expect to see me endorsing shampoo and fashion lines in the near future. Maybe...

Until next time peoples...

Taking my mouth down south

Heyyyyy my little cupcakes, it's nice to be back on the blog with an update of all things me! It's been a proper crazy few weeks of shows and socials, here's the news.

I'll start with my twenty minutes at The Adelphi in Leeds - a proper nice venue with properly terrible parking which I just about got to on time. I found myself opening an all-lady lineup alongside some properly talented people who'd travelled from as far as North Wales. And there was me grumbling about the hour's drive! The crowd was a nice bunch and I chatted with an alpha-female between the songs and jokes. Great work Jack O' Clubs Comedy! The reception was warm - which is more than can be said for my drive home across the Peak District in the snow. "Chilling out" in a tailback at the top of a hill for thirty minutes at midnight ain't so relaxing I'm telling you.

On the weekend Annie Sup and I went Bop and Bingo-ing in Stockport with a right rowdy crowd. I did my number calling, songs, jokes and all that but it was in my game, "Letter Go," where it got proper crazy. As usual, I called out a letter and my contestants had to get something from the audience beginning with that letter. Best selection wins. I said, "T!" One respectable looking middle-aged lady pulled up a similar looking mate - who promptly whapped out a bosom and shouted, "TIT!" Holding it like a death ray, the audience responded something wild and she won the round. Obviously. More bingo coming soon.

Which brings us up to date with my trip down to London and a thrity minute set in Lewisham at The Llama's Head. A proper glitzy little bar with a podium to perform on and some very spirited cocktails. My thirty turned to forty as between the puns and pop people kept arriving and I had to welcome them before telling them to shut up and listen to me. They was a nice bunch though and we bonded as only drunk people and a part-time primary school music teacher singing about microwaves can. Proper nice.

This week I'm competing in "The Crown" at The Brewers on Canal Street, Manchester. 7pm this Thursday. Be there!

Away from reality my socials have been blowing up again. A recent Tikky Tok is sitting pretty at over 610,000 views and my Insta has moved from averaging 6 likes to 60. Both have doubled in followers in two weeks so legs crossed that carries on. I should be at 10,000 followers on the Tok soon. Which means I can do ungodly new things on it so watch out!

Anything else? Yes! Both my solo show, "Angela Bra: Life Lessons" and double act with Annie Sup, "Annie and Angela's Disco Divorce Party" are now listed on the Edinburgh Fringe site. Mega!

'Til next time...

Bingo in Bury, Comedy in Crewe and a TikTok Tsumnami

O-M-Gosh guys, girls and those of no fixed g - what an AMAZING week!

So, on Wednesday I was hosting my little music and comedy night here in Glossop and the acts was totally tip top with a cherry on top. The jokes was raining down nearly as hard as all the water crashing into the pavement outside and the music wafted among us somewhat less aggressively than the tornado blowing against the door. I did my song about a love affair with a carrier bag and we was all wrapped up by eleven. The next one is, as usual, at Square West but, not as usual, from March it'll be 3-7pm on a Sunday with the first being on the 13th.

Not happy with just the one gig, I was in my Micra driving against the elements on Thursday to perform a middle twenty (industry speak darlings) at a taphouse in Crewe. The audience was real nice and the lady in the front row was a proper good sport when I told her drinking a cocktail in a place full of beer was somewhat like taking a dump on their bar pumps. I roadtested my brand new fingernails which you just slap on your hands and look well classy. It was a "beer-ly" good laugh!

Friday was bingo night so Annie and I picked up our mate Charlotte and drove to Bury for Bop & Bingo and over 150 crazed women looking to drink, dab and slap a naked butler's bottom. I sangs me microwave tune and made fun of Cam "the man" who does his best to keep the whole thing running. I rocked my new Topshop sequin dress (£3 from my local charity shop - BARGAIN!) so me and Annie both stormed the place with our super trendy looks. Speaking of storms, it was hailing all night with the wind threatening to turn me car into a kite but luckily by the time we left it had calmed down. Next stop for bingo is Stockport next Friday. Can't wait!

And in the online world I rebooted my most popular joke from 2021 with a much improved video and, once again, it's going more viral than the flu-that-can't-be-named-the-same-thing-for-too-long. 140,000 views when I last looked and I've now got me over 4,000 followers. If you happen to be one of them do say hiiiiiii!

Here a link to it.

Square West, TikTok and Sold Out Bingo

My oh my oh my, what a busy couple of weeks!

First up, well done to all my lovely acts who delivered the good as Square West in Glossop earlier this month. Five music acts and five comedians on a Wednesday night, who could ask for more? The audience were well impressed and have swore blind they're coming again in February. And they definitely should, I've got a whole car load of funny people travelling across the border from Wales to entertain. But no, it ain't a clown car with a honk-honk horn. More's the pity. I made me a little video using footage from the night to promote the next one. Click to have a little look!

Elsewhere, Bop & Bingo has confirmed a pile of nights for me to MC in the coming months. A couple of them (Bury and Glossop) sold out in less than 48 hours and many of the others are about to be full up too so if you want a dab, dance and drink get your tickets now - they've also expanded into brunches so you can drink and dance in the daytime too, soundtracked by live performances of Grease and Abba!

In the virtual world I've also been smashing it with a little tribute to naughty tory boy Johnson and his lockdown garden parties. Ignore the poxy views on the youtube - it's the TikTok that has, as usual, really gone potty for my song about the prime minister's pinot predicament. I also did a TikTok Live earlier this week to road test parts of my new Edinburgh show, Life Lessons. In just under two hours I managed about a third of it and otherwise spent the time chatting to all my wonderful viewers - who totalled over 6,000 by the time I finally logged off. I'll be doing that regular I reckon as it's good fun, lots of you watch and I can do it in my lounge!

That said I do loves the live so I'm booking plenty of shows for the coming months. I'll be in London at the start of March. More details soon!

Two Days in Buxton / Two Weeks in Edinburgh

Having completed my 13 day half-run at the Edinburgh Fringe, I've now had time to reflect on the wonderfully wild ride of my show "...
